A Message from the Mayor.....
On behalf of the citizens of Westbrook, I welcome you to our community.
Westbrook residents and visitors enjoy a lifestyle which utilizes many amenities which are not available in other communities of similar size. Westbrook boasts a medical clinic and hospital along with an assited living facility which is connected. The Westbrook Good Samaritan Home is also a great complement to the medical facilities available. Local businesses which are available include a grocery store, bank, drug store/gift shop and pharmacy, lumber yard/hardware store, bars, restaurants, insurance agencies, law offices, accounting firms, auto/camper dealerships, farm implement sales and service, small engine sales and service, electricians, plumbing and heating sales and service, and general mechanics.
Public facilities include a large and expanded library, a community center with senior center, a park which includes playgrounds, a swimming pool, ball field, sand volleyball area, and picnic shelter. In addition, the Rolling Hills Golf Course lies some three miles west of Westbrook for recreational use in the spring, summer, and fall. For the hunting and fishing enthusiasts, Westbrook is only minutes away from some excellant hunting and fishing year-round entertainment.
The backbone of Westbrook is its volunteerism which serves the local churches, First Presbyterian, Immanual Baptist, Grace Lutheran, St. Anthony's Catholic, and Trinity Lutheran. In addtion several service organizations provide an active and vibrant year-round social calendar. These include the Lions, Kiwanis, Westbrook Area Volunteers, Westbrook Women's Club, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and their respective Auxiliaries.
The Westbrook Community is served by a public utility which offers electrical service, natural gas, water and cable TV.
Westbrook also houses the Junior High and High School for the Westbrook Walnut-Grove School district.
